The multitalented MBA student with a profound fascination for learning new languages recently bagged a job as a Relationship Manager with ICICI Bank. When asked what interests him about the financial sector, he replied, “I decided to specialise in finance and marketing for my post-graduation because of my passion for the subject and my proficiency with numbers. I find the intricacies of financial systems fascinating, and my aptitude for analysing and interpreting data naturally led me towards finance. Additionally, I chose marketing as it complements my skill set, allowing me to not only understand the financial aspects but also effectively communicate and strategise in the dynamic business environment. This dual specialisation equips me with a comprehensive skill set, blending analytical prowess with creative and strategic thinking, essential for navigating the complexities of today’s business landscape.”
In addition, Aditya in his free time enjoys watching football, cricket and Formula 1. He also loves swimming and have represented his school in many competitions. “My active participation in sports has taught me many skills,” he mentioned.

How excited are you to start this professional journey?
I’m thrilled to embark on my professional journey as a Relationship Manager with ICICI Bank. The prospect of contributing to both my personal growth and making a positive impact in society is truly exciting. I look forward to applying my skills, learning from experiences, and earning a living while actively participating in the financial sector’s contribution to societal development.
Did you always aspire to work in this sector?
While I didn’t always have a specific career path in mind, I’ve been drawn to the banking sector for several reasons. The multitude of departments to choose from within banking provides a diverse range of career opportunities. Recognising the sector as the backbone of the economy due to its robust nature, wide reach, and constant demand, I am excited about the potential for growth and development. The dynamic and ever-evolving nature of the banking industry aligns with my career goals, making it a compelling and rewarding choice for my professional aspirations.
How did you prepare for this placement interview? What are the key things to keep in mind while preparing?
For preparation of the placement interview, I engaged in extensive mock interviews and sought feedback from both peers and my college mentor. The key focus areas during preparation were to exude confidence, maintain honesty in responses, thoroughly understand my CV, and possess a comprehensive understanding of the job description and the company. Being well-prepared not only boosts confidence but also ensures a more authentic and informed interaction during the interview process.
How did the faculty help you to prepare for the placement process?
The faculty played a crucial role in my preparation for the placement process. They provided substantial support by conducting mock interviews, organising special classes to impart essential interview skills, offering guidance in refining my CV (Resume), and facilitating the resolution of real-life case studies. This holistic assistance not only enhanced my technical knowledge, but also sharpened my interpersonal and problem-solving skills, ensuring I was well-prepared for the challenges of the placement process. Their commitment to our success was evident in the comprehensive and practical preparation they facilitated.
What skills do you think are important to crack a job placement in the banking organisation?
In my view, essential skills to secure a job placement in a banking organisation include a strong understanding of banking products, foundational knowledge of how banks operate, familiarity with financial regulations, effective communication skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and adaptability to the dynamic nature of the financial industry. Additionally, interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively are crucial, given the often client-facing and team-oriented nature of roles in the banking sector. Continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends are also key attributes that contribute to success in this field
Where do you see yourself in the coming few years?
In the coming few years, I envision myself in a leadership role within the banking sector, leveraging my expertise to contribute to strategic decision-making and fostering innovation. I aspire to continue growing professionally, possibly taking on more responsibilities and expanding my skill set.
