Harshita DasNIPER JEE (National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Joint Entrance Examination) is a highly competitive exam that determines admission to various postgraduate programmes in pharmaceutical sciences. The admit card for NIPER JEE 2023 has already been released at the official NIPER Guwahati website and the exam will be conducted on 23 June 2023.
And if you are one of the aspiring candidates, a strong preparation strategy will be the key to cracking the entrance exam. In order to prepare diligently, you are required to understand the exam pattern first and then incorporate steps like practicing time management as well as solving mock test papers in your study plan.
So, let’s check out a few tips to prepare for the upcoming exam:
Understand the exam pattern and syllabus: Begin your preparation by thoroughly understanding the exam pattern and syllabus. The NIPER-JEE typically consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering subjects such as pharmaceutical sciences, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmacology, and more. Familiarise yourself with the weightage of each topic to prioritise your study plan accordingly.
Create a study schedule: Designing a structured study schedule is crucial to manage your time efficiently. Allocate specific time slots for each subject, giving priority to areas you find challenging. Break down your study sessions into smaller, manageable tasks to ensure consistency. Remember to include regular breaks to avoid burnout and maintain productivity.
Gather study materials: Accumulate reliable study materials, including textbooks, reference books, previous years’ question papers, and online resources. Refer to textbooks recommended by NIPER authorities to ensure you cover the required topics comprehensively. Practice solving previous years’ papers to familiarize yourself with the exam format and identify areas that require improvement.
Practice time management: Time management is critical during the exam. Regularly practice solving sample papers and mock tests within the given time frame. This helps you enhance your speed and accuracy, allowing you to complete the exam on time. Additionally, it familiarizes you with the question patterns and builds your confidence.
Strengthen problem-solving skills: The NIPER JEE requires strong problem-solving abilities. Solve a variety of practice questions to hone your analytical and logical reasoning skills. Participate in group discussions or online forums to engage in peer learning and gain different perspectives on problem-solving approaches.
Revision and mock tests: Dedicate sufficient time for revision as the exam approaches. Create concise notes or flashcards summarising key concepts, equations, and formulas. Regularly revise these notes to reinforce your learning. Additionally, take mock tests under exam-like conditions to assess your preparation level and identify areas that need improvement. However, Ankit Mehra, who secured an All India Rank of 118 in NIPER JEE 2022 exam and is currently pursuing his Masters in Pharmacology from NIPER Hyderabad, mentions, “One must stop solving mock test papers 2-3 days before the exam date. It’s because if a student is unable to solve that paper right before the day of exam that will negatively impact his/her confidence.” He also suggests staying abreast of the latest developments in the pharmaceutical industry and current affairs related to healthcare. “NIPER JEE may include questions on recent advancements or regulatory changes in the field. Reading newspapers, journals, and online publications can help you stay informed,” he adds.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Even though you are preparing for this competitive exam, it’s imperative to also prioritise your physical and mental well-being. Ensure an adequate amount of sleep, exercise regularly, and follow a balanced diet. Avoid excessive stress and practice relaxation techniques such as meditation or deep breathing exercises to stay focused and calm.
Stay positive and motivated: Maintaining a positive mindset throughout your preparation is crucial. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who encourage and motivate you. Celebrate your small victories and remain determined even during challenging times.
All in all, any competitive exam tests your dedication, hard work and knowledge and it only requires discipline and a strategic approach. So, fret not, you will be able to ace the exam with confidence. Just take a deep breath and give it your best shot.
All the best!
