Marching into Ideas: Time to finally start what we planned!

As the first two months of the year fly past us, time to seize the day and take the matter in our own hands

The first two months of the year have just whooshed past. January was all about recovering from the holiday season, making grand resolutions (which we totally meant to keep), and struggling to remember that it’s now 2025, not 2024. February came and went in a blur, shorter than our willpower to hit the gym. And suddenly, it’s March—International Ideas Month! This is when reality kicks in: those brilliant ideas we had at the start of the year? Yeah, it’s time to actually do something about them.

So, instead of letting another month slip away, how about finally committing to at least one new idea? Here are five fun, exciting, and totally doable things to try this month!

Get Fitter (For Real This Time!)

Remember when you said, “I’ll start working out from Monday” but conveniently forgot which Monday? Well, March is a great time to make it happen. You don’t have to turn into a fitness guru overnight. Start small—take a daily walk, try a fun dance workout, or even just stretch in the morning. Your future self will thank you (and so will your jeans).

Learn a Musical Instrument (Even If It’s Just One Song)

Always wanted to play the guitar, piano, or ukulele? Or at least impress people by playing the intro to your favorite song? Now’s your chance! You don’t need to become the next Beethoven—just pick up an instrument and learn a simple tune. It’s fun, satisfying, and will make you look effortlessly cool at parties.

Speak a New Language (Or At Least Learn Some Fun Phrases)

You don’t need to be fluent in French, Spanish, or Japanese by the end of the month. But imagine how cool it would be to casually drop a “C’est la vie” or “Gracias” into conversations. Download a language app, watch a show in another language (hello, K-dramas!), and start small. Who knows? You might just fall in love with it and end up planning a trip!

Master a New Dish (So You Can Show Off Later)

Tired of eating the same boring meals? This is your sign to experiment in the kitchen. Try cooking something completely different—a Thai curry, homemade pasta, or even a fancy dessert. Not only is it a great skill to have, but it also comes with the delicious perk of eating your creation. Win-win!

Explore a New Place (Without Leaving Your City)

Travel doesn’t always mean expensive flights and long holidays. Be a tourist in your own city! Visit a museum, try out a quirky café, or check out that beautiful park you always pass by but never enter. A small adventure breaks the routine and gives you a fresh perspective—without breaking the bank.

So, let’s make International Ideas Month count! Pick an idea, give it a shot, and who knows? By next year, you might just be a fit, multi-lingual, guitar-playing chef who knows the best hidden spots in the city. Now that’s a resolution worth keeping! ar
