Importance of computer technology, engineering in society

Technology and engineering is a very diverse field of study. Although there are many areas of concentration, I have chosen computer engineering as my major. Engineering is a field that is continuously growing every day. The advantage of being a computer engineer is multiple opportunities to develop and discover new ways to improve many forms of technology into society. Computer engineers fall into three categories: hardware engineers, software engineers and network engineers. All three kinds of engineers design, build and test new technology solutions. Engineers invent and use technology to create products that solve the problems. This might be something as simple as a pencil that writes both thin and thick lines or something as complicated as a water purifier that can easily remove salt from sea water.

Advancement in computer engineering has significantly improved medical and health care facilities. Research and development of new medicines, medical equipment manufacturing and even how diseases are identified and treated have seen a massive positive shift in recent years due to computer science.

Scientists used computers to develop theories, analyse and test data and exchange information electronically with colleagues around the world. Computers are used in a variety of areas for entertainment purposes such as video movies, television, music, editing and art such as painting, pictures, poetry etc are just a click away. Any professional individual like doctors, businessmen, etc. undergo a change in their style or working pattern after they get knowledge of computers. An individual becomes more competent to make decisions due to the computer because all information required is provided by the computer on time. In common life also an individual gets benefits with computer technology when airports , hospitals, bus department stores have been computerised, people get quick service due to the computer system.

Therefore, everyone knows the advantages of computers and are making the most use of them. Development of engineering and technology has a direct effect on our daily life. Computer engineering and technology has made communication possible from one part of the world to another part in seconds. They can see transactions in one part of the world. So computer technology and engineering is one of the greatest achievements of this century.
