Fresh batch of students unleash the best version of themselves   

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) organises two-day Talent Carnival for new entrants

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar recently organised a two-day ‘Talent Carnival 2022’ for the new batch of students. On the first day, a line of competitions were held including music vocal, music instrumental, dance, theatre, landscape and collage making, photography, cartooning, installation, clay modelling, poster making, phulkari, rangoli, mehndi and literary items.

For holistic development of a personality, academic success isn’t just enough. In fact, one needs to be proactive in extracurricular activities as well as nurture relevant skills to prepare oneself for the job market.  Thus, the goal behind organising this talent carnival was to provide a platform to the multi-talented batch of students to showcase their skills, and further nurture them to emerge as an all-rounder.   

On the second day of the Talent Carnival, students set the stage on fire through their performances in instrumental music – percussion and non-percussion, music vocal, dance including solo, bollywood, bhangra as well as theatrical showcase via skit and mimicry.   

Mr. Pankaj Bansal, Assistant Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar graced the occasion with his warm presence. Addressing the talented bunch of students, Mr. Bansal said, “The energetic and charismatic students remind me of my college days. College time is a golden time in an individual’s life and so, one should make the best of it.”

The students participated in it with great joy and enthusiasm and showcasd their talent.

Kreetina Rai, student of MA Semester 1 said, “I participated in poetry recitation competition on Talent Carnival 2022. It was an amazing experience full of fun and learning. I had a great time and I am looking forward to participate in more such events in future.”

Another student Jaskaran from B.D. (Multimedia) Semester 1 said, “My experience was just spectacular. I participated in rap category and I sang my own composition. I personally feel Apeejay College has given an unbeatable experience to all new talent with such competitions and that’s one of the areas where the college is excelling as compared to all other colleges in the state.”

“Talent  Carnival provided me with a wonderful opportunity to express all emotions through my poem to the right kind of crowd as all of them could relate to it very well. I am grateful to ACFA for giving me this platform,” added Simran Bawa of BA Semester 5.

Speaking at the event, Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA expressed, “We welcome our new multitalented students to the campus. At ACFA, we emphasise on holistic development of personality of students giving equal importance to academics, co-curricular activities and soft skills. Talent Carnival is one such event, which provides newcomers a platform to showcase their skills and abilities. I congratulate all the winners and participants for their brilliant performances. We are elated to have such immense pool of talent this year. Under the able guidance and mentorship of our dedicated and stalwart faculty, the students will definitely become experts in the years to come.”

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
