In a quest for both knowledge and adventure, a group of college students from AIMC recently ventured into the scenic landscapes of Manali for an educational trip that blended academics with the thrill of exploration. The journey unfolded as a unique opportunity for experiential learning, fostering not only academic growth but also personal development among the participants.

The educational trip aimed to provide students with a holistic learning experience beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. The picturesque backdrop of Manali served as an unconventional setting for lessons on environmental science, geography, and sustainable tourism. Field studies and interactive sessions brought textbook concepts to life, allowing students to witness and comprehend the subjects in real-world contexts.

The adventure began with a breathtaking bus journey of almost 12 hours to Manali. Along the way, the students enjoyed singing songs, playing games, and bonding with both senior and junior students, as well as faculty members. A delicious dinner in Murthal, Haryana, and lunch in the hills of Himachal Pradesh added to the journey’s enjoyment.

Upon reaching the first destination, camps in the outer area of Manali, the students were given some time to rest before engaging in thrilling activities at the Adventure Park, including Zip Line, Bharama Bridge, Wooden Bridge, Tunnel, Bridge 2 Bridge 3, Parsha Water Fall Trek, and Rope Ladder. The day concluded with a surprise DJ night where students, along with faculty, danced and enjoyed a tasty dinner.

On the second day, after breakfast and check-out from the camp, the group visited Solang Valley, Atul Tunnel Snow Point, and Rohtang Pass to experience the majesty of mountains and glaciers. The students enjoyed the snowfall, sledge rides, and breathtaking views, equipped with snow jackets, boots, caps, and gloves. The day ended with another DJ night at The Moniker Resort.

The last day in Manali began with local sightseeing, visiting Hadimba Temple, Manali Museum, Tibetan Monastery, Mall Road, and Manali Van Vihar. A tour to Mall Road allowed for some shopping. A visit to ancient temples and historical sites added a cultural dimension to the educational sojourn, connecting students with the rich heritage of the region.

Practical workshops on sustainable tourism practices were woven into the itinerary, encouraging students to reflect on responsible travel and the impact of tourism on local communities. The experience prompted discussions on how future professionals could contribute to the preservation of natural resources and the promotion of ethical tourism.

As the educational trip to Manali concluded, the students returned to their college campuses not only with a trove of knowledge but also with memories of a transformative journey. The blend of academia, adventure, and cultural immersion proved to be a recipe for an educational experience that transcended the ordinary, leaving a lasting impact on the participants. In retrospect, this educational trip stands as the best trip of my life to date. We all enjoyed, had fun, and learned many things. Thanks to the AIMC faculty and admin team for providing us with this opportunity to explore Manali in such a memorable manner.
