Let’s explore Yashraj’s inspiring journey and how his passion for VFX has brought him success. 

Can you tell us a bit about your background and what inspired you to pursue VFX?

I am currently pursuing PCM with Computer Science in Apeejay School, Noida. The support of my teachers has been phenomenal. They’ve always encouraged us to explore our talents, not just academically but also in co-curricular activities like the CODE Club, where I’ve been actively participating for the last year. I’ve been interested in video editing and graphics for the past three to four years, especially using software like Adobe Premiere Pro.

How did your journey with VFX begin, and what were the challenges you faced?

My interest in VFX started two years ago when I noticed how the CODE Club was nurturing talents in tech competitions. I thought, why not give VFX a try? The Velocity competition gave us a specific topic – to create a short edit or AMV on any anime. I chose a popular anime and spent around two hours editing. The next day, I found out I had secured the 1st position. It was a great boost to my confidence!

Can you tell us more about the role of the CODE Club in your success?

The CODE Club has been running for 26 years at Apeejay School, Noida. It’s essentially a platform for tech enthusiasts like me. Our seniors played a huge role in guiding us through video editing and VFX. Their support and the resources provided have helped me grow immensely in this field.

What have you learned from your experiences in inter-school competitions?

In total, I’ve participated in eight inter-school competitions and secured five podium finishes. These experiences taught me perseverance and helped me refine my skills in VFX and video editing. The support from my teachers and seniors has been invaluable, making sure we don’t feel discouraged even if we don’t win.

How has Apeejay School, Noida contributed to your journey?

The school has always encouraged students to explore their potential. The teachers’ unwavering support, whether in academics or co-curricular activities, has been a cornerstone of my success. The encouragement I’ve received has made me strive for excellence in everything I do.
