Cultural events play a crucial role in schools by promoting global awareness, diversity, and mutual respect among students. They offer a unique platform for students to explore and appreciate the richness of different cultures, fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates our shared humanity. By engaging in such activities, students gain a broader perspective of the world, developing empathy and cultural sensitivity that are essential in today’s interconnected society.

To evoke cultural sensitivity amongst students, the Fashion Fiesta held at Apeejay School, Noida was a vibrant celebration of global cultures, showcasing the traditions of India, Tanzania, Japan, and Portugal. This event underscored the importance of cultural exchange and embracing the global community. The students of class I proudly represented their allocated countries, parading in traditional attire, accessories, and music, and gracefully walking the ramp.

Following this, students highlighted Tanzania’s vibrant cultural heritage, sporting traditional garments, and modern designs. The spotlight then turned to Portugal, where students captivated the audience with elegant folk costumes, showcasing intricate embroidery and discussing Portugal’s maritime heritage and cuisine.

Throughout the show, students exhibited confidence, poise, and teamwork as they walked the runway and posed for the audience. They embraced the opportunity to learn about different cultures and display their creativity through fashion. At the event’s conclusion, students were awarded certificates of participation.

Ms Smriti Samuel, the Primary In-charge, praised the young models and highlighted the significance of such activities in bolstering students’ confidence. She also commended the teachers for fostering a love for cultural diversity.
