To sing the national song placing the hand over our heart and a head held high is a privilege granted to us by the countless bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the nation. Affinity and admiration towards one’s motherland is well reflected as one sings the national song with full zeal and passion. Marking a week-long ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad started the second day on a patriotic note. Mr Dhirender, the Music Teacher at the school, spread the essence of patriotism in the air with his mellifluous voice and soulful renditions. Mr Vineet, TGT Sanskrit enthusiastically deciphered the meaning of the national song to the students.

The students were stunned when Ms Priti Wason, Principal of the school poured her heart out when she sang, ‘देश से है प्यार तो हरपल यह कहना चाहिए, मैं रहूं या ना रहूं भारत ये रहना चाहिए’.

Further, students engaged in many interesting activities that made them aware about Independence Day in a fun filled manner. Those from classes Nursery to 2 took part in the tricolour flag making activity. The students also made colourful Rakhis which adorned their wrists.

In addition, thali decoration activity was conducted for the students of classes 3-5. Students also took part in rosette making activity. A quiz session to review the knowledge about India’s National flag and Independence Day was conducted for the students of classes 6-8.

Speaking about the celebrations, class 9 student Shaurya Dhankhar said, “It was a lovely experience attending this special assembly. We were being taught about our nation and the rich heritage makes us more proud to be an Indian. After watching the various activities and cultural performances, I got to know so many new things about my nation. It was awesome!”

On this joyous occasion, the school also announced that class 4 prodigy Dhruv Pandit has once again made the school proud by entering the prestigious Indian Book of Records-2022 for achieving 37 different titles in various fields within one academic session. Also, Tanmay Sharma was felicitated for winning the gold medal in the mini-National fencing championships by the Fencing Association of India.
