The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has slated the Physics exam for March 4, 2024. Students must have already completed their initial round of prep for the exam. However, studying the chapters needs to be complemented by solving several question papers to ensure one is exam-ready. It is natural to be overwhelmed before the exams, especially since it is the Boards and that too for class XII. There is pressure on the students to get an excellent score.

So, how to start?

Sharing 10 tips to ensure that students maximise their performance on the day of the exam, Sanjana Chauhan, the PGT Physics at Apeejay School, Kharghar, highlighted:

Use the initial reading time wisely. This period is golden for planning your strategy for the next three hours. “Make sure to attempt every question — leaving questions unanswered is a missed opportunity,” Chauhan said.

Read each question thoroughly, understanding every part before answering. This is essential to avoid missing sub-questions or details.

When tackling numericals, remember to write down the formula you’re using, show your calculations step by step, and present your final answer with the correct unit.

Language clarity is key, so keep your answers straightforward.

Include diagrams if they can aid your explanation, especially in subjects like Physics.

For MCQs, choose your answers thoughtfully.

Confidence is your ally; remind yourself of your preparation and believe in your success.

Employ deep breathing techniques to maintain focus and enhance concentration during the exam.

Allocate time to review your answers. This final step can catch any overlooked mistakes or opportunities to refine your responses.

Keep at least 10 minutes to revise your answers and check for any mistakes made in calculations and or missed out on any diagram.

“By following these guidelines, you’ll not only approach your exams with confidence but also with a clear plan to give your best performance,” Chauhan said in conclusion.
