Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram heartily welcomes new batch of students

Fresher’s party is a celebration that every student eagerly looks forward to since the time of their joining the university or college.It is a fun-filled event, which is organised to welcome the new batch of students and to make them feel comfortable in the new environment. 

Thus, on a chilly autumn day, Apeejay Stya University (ASU) in Gurugram, recently organised a fresher’s party and warmly welcomed the new batch of students. Creating an atmosphere of sheer joy, excitement and chuckles all around the amphitheatre, the freshers were introduced to all the faculty members and their seniors. The vibrant reactions shown by the new students were reflecting the pleasure felt in their hearts.

Subsequently, Vice Chancellor Professor R.S. Dhankar welcomed the new members of the Apeejay Stya family. He talked about how one can learn about different fields through their teachers and seniors. He further encouraged the new students to dream big and how sky’s the limit for achieving their goal.

Moving on, the freshers put their best foot forward in competitions like heartfelt poetry, melodious singing, rhythmic dance followed by ice-breaking games and ramp walk which the audience really admired.

Ishika from School of Education (SOE) was appreciated by the viewers for her lovely performance. A special performance by Aditya, enrolled in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SOPS), was adored by the audience. Audience was amused by games like musical chairs and newspaper folding dance that were being conducted on the stage for the fresher’s. 

Student of School of Journalism and Mass Communication Kajal  and SOPS student Sakshi won the duo newspaper folding dance. A spectacular ramp walk was performed on stage by fresher’s who were full of liveliness and zeal.

The finalists who were selected for the ‘Fresher’s Title’ competition were Ishika (SOE), Tanisha of School of Biosciences, Sattakshi from School of Management Sciences, Drishti (SOPS), Manya (SOPS), Aditya (SOPS) and Krishna (SOE). 

After the Q&A round, the final results were declared in which Aditya and Tanisha were crowned as Mr and Miss Fresher by the Vice Chancellor. Aditya Anant and Drishti were also awarded with the title of ‘Most Well-Dressed’ freshers.

The seniors enjoyed the party as well. The fresher’s were grateful to the teachers and students who coordinated the party. It was a wonderful experience for everyone. The students grooved to the tunes of the DJ on stage and had a lot of fun. They were provided with light refreshments after the DJ dance. The freshers party was overall a lovely and enjoyable experience for all the students.
