When the family decided it was time to change their daughter’s school, their biggest concern was finding a place where she would feel comfortable and cared for. They wanted her to do well academically, but just as importantly, to explore her interests, grow in confidence and genuinely enjoy going to school. Hence, choosing Apeejay School, Greater Noida, appeared apt for the family. Meet Priya Singh, whose daughter, Krishvi, is studying in Class II here.
In an impromptu, the mother shares how her daughter has become more independent since joining the school.
How has your daughter settled in?
Krishvi is not only interested in books. She enjoys creative activities as well, so it was important for us to find a school where she would get opportunities beyond academics. The teachers welcomed her warmly and made her feel comfortable from the beginning. For a child entering a new school, that makes a huge difference. Even though this is her first year, she has already been given opportunities such as anchoring the Independence Day programme. She handled the entire programme on stage, and seeing her do that made us feel that we had made the right decision.
What kind of co-curricular activities does Krishvi enjoy?
She is a very responsible child, and whenever she is given an activity, she gets excited about it. One thing I have noticed at Apeejay School is the variety of activities available to children. There are many opportunities for them to participate and explore different interests. Even something like skating is conducted regularly. For Krishvi, these activities matter because she enjoys being involved in things beyond the classroom.

Has she been able to make friends and settle into the school socially?
Yes, she has made very good friends. Even though they do not stay close to us, we try to arrange meetings on weekends whenever possible, apart from the time they spend together at school. For me, that is another sign that she has settled in well. She has formed friendships and feels comfortable in her new environment.
Have you noticed your daughter becoming more independent since joining the school?
I can see her becoming much more independent and responsible. The school gives children assignments that are not limited to textbooks. There are craft activities and projects as well. Earlier, her first instinct might have been to ask us for help. Now, she first tries to work things out on her own. For example, if she has to do a flower pot painting activity, she will come to me with her ideas and then ask me for help.
What makes this school standout?
One of the things I appreciate most about the school is the class strength. When I first heard that there was only one section per class, I found it difficult to believe. In today’s environment, where education is increasingly becoming commercialised, maintaining smaller class sizes is something I genuinely value. Because the number of students is manageable, every child receives more attention. Children feel comfortable, accepted, and, most importantly, they feel that they belong to the school.
If you had to identify one major advantage Apeejay has given Krishvi, what would it be?
Without hesitation, I would say confidence. My daughter is a very emotional child. In her earlier schools, I would describe her as an introvert. But once she becomes comfortable with people, she can be quite an extrovert. The change I have seen in her confidence after joining Apeejay School has been significant.
