Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, marked World Earth Day with a vibrant and meaningful special assembly organised by the Students of the Disaster Management Club in collaboration with the Primary Wing. The event reflected a strong commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable living, engaging students through a blend of creativity and action.

The assembly began on an inspiring note with an insightful address and a thought-provoking message, setting the tone for the celebration. Members of the Disaster Management Club then captivated the audience with a powerful dance performance that creatively depicted various human activities contributing to environmental pollution. Through expressive movements and impactful storytelling, the performance conveyed an urgent call for change.

Adding depth to the message, students presented an energetic Nukkad Natak that highlighted the vital role of trees in sustaining life on Earth. The performance effectively emphasised the consequences of deforestation and the pressing need to protect and nurture green cover, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

A key highlight of the assembly was the collective Earth Pledge, where students united in their commitment to environmental conservation. The pledge focused on four essential actions: eliminating the use of plastic bags, planting trees to mark special occasions, encouraging cleanliness within their communities, and conserving water by avoiding wastage. This shared commitment underscored the importance of individual responsibility in building a sustainable future.

Taking the message beyond words, the celebration culminated in a sapling plantation drive at the basketball ground. The school Principal, Mr Yashpal Sharma, and Vice-principal, Ms Aarti Shorey Bhatt, along with Pre-primary Incharge, Ms Jagriti joined the students in planting saplings, symbolising hope and a collective promise for a greener tomorrow.

The programme concluded with an encouraging address by the Principal, who applauded the students for their initiative and enthusiasm. He inspired everyone to adopt environmentally conscious habits and reminded them that caring for the planet should not be limited to a single day, but practiced every day through mindful living.
