With a heavy heart, I pen this tribute to the legendary Fauja Singh Ji, who recently left us for his heavenly abode. A man of unmatched grit and grace, he wasn’t just a marathon runner — he was a symbol of timeless endurance, unwavering commitment, and the boundless power of the human spirit. Born in 1911, Fauja Singh Ji defied age and expectations, running marathons well into his 90s and even completing a full marathon at the age of 100. He proudly held multiple world records in his age category and inspired millions around the globe, proving that limitations exist only in the mind.

His journey wasn’t just about physical milestones, but about resilience, purpose, and deep faith. I feel immensely fortunate and blessed to have met him and received his blessings during the marathons I participated in. His simplicity, warm smile, and powerful presence had a rare ability to uplift and inspire everyone around him. Every interaction with him was like receiving wisdom wrapped in kindness.

Memories of seeing him run with such grace and spirit came flooding back — moments that will forever remain etched in my heart.

Fauja Singh Ji was more than just a sports icon; he was a life lesson in motion. His story will continue to ignite hope, courage, and perseverance in generations to come.

His legacy will forever live on — not just in record books, but in the hearts of those he inspired.

Waheguru ji da Khalsa, Waheguru ji di Fateh.
