A morning of inspiration as students honour Tagore’s life through poetry & reflection

School assemblies play a vital role in nurturing students’ holistic development. They provide a platform to celebrate culture, values, and great personalities while building confidence and collaboration among learners. Such events also instil a sense of unity, respect for heritage, and deepen the connection between academic learning and real-life inspiration.

With this focus, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, hosted a special morning assembly to pay tribute to the 164th birth anniversary of the legendary poet, philosopher, and Nobel laureate, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. The event was a heartfelt celebration of his timeless legacy and was filled with cultural and educational fervour.  

The assembly commenced with a serene prayer, creating a spiritual ambience and setting a respectful tone for the proceedings. Students then took the audience through a well-curated journey of Tagore’s life, highlighting his multifaceted contributions to literature, music, education, and art. 

A series of engaging presentations followed. Students recited some of Tagore’s most cherished poems in both English and Hindi, capturing the depth and beauty of his words. The school choir added a soulful touch by performing one of his inspirational songs, drawing heartfelt applause from the gathering. A compelling skit, inspired by Tagore’s literary works, was also performed, leaving the audience with meaningful reflections on social values and human dignity. 

The celebration concluded with an interactive quiz based on Tagore’s life and works. It was not only a test of knowledge but also a fun and effective way to reinforce the students’ learning.

This assembly served as a powerful reminder of Tagore’s enduring relevance and left the students inspired to emulate his values of creativity, compassion, and critical thinking.
