We are slowly moving towards normalcy after more than two years of the Covid-19 pandemic. Fortunately, we can now experience the joy of in-person appreciation for all the efforts we made during the health crisis. In that spirit, Apeejay School, Saket conducted the Prize Distribution Ceremony for sessions 2019-20 and 2020-21 in the school to felicitate and celebrate the academic and co-curricular achievements of students who didn’t let the pandemic deter their spirit to succeed.

On February 18, 2022, the first day of the event, proud parents and students gathered to congratulate each other for their exemplary performance. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessings of God amidst the soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana. Gangataranga, a dynamic Shiv Stuti classical Odissi dance form was performed by Mehal Kanoujia, a student of class 12 at the school.

As the prize distribution commenced, Science topper of the school, Adhiraj Goel was awarded the President’s Gold Medal, the highest award for academics in CBSE 12 Board Examinations of 2019. He says, “I feel very proud to receive the honour and would like to thank all my teachers for the same. Speaking at the event, Chief Guest, Dr. Reena Ramachandran, the former Chairman and Managing Director at Hindustan Organic Chemicals, motivated students to nurture a questioning mind and carve their own road to success.

On the next day of the event, students received special awards for co-curricular activities and performances. The Chief Guest of the day Ms. Seema Khetarpal, Principal at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, M B Road, Pushp Vihar addressed the students emphasising upon the importance of positive thinking and holistic development. She advised them to appreciate and respect the invaluable role of parents in their life and academic journey.

“The physical experience of getting awarded with trophies and badges from dignitaries is no match to a virtual experience. The feeling remains etched in the heart, and so was our thought behind the physical distribution of prizes,” says Ms. Zenia, event in-charge and PGT Maths, Head of Department at Apeejay School, Saket.

The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks, delivered by Ms. Ritesh Sharma, academic coordinator of the school.

“Apeejay School, Saket promotes holistic development of each child- wherein academic and co-curricular activities work in tandem. Students learn to work amongst peers as well as broaden their horizons. Today, we are truly delighted to hold an event in the school to celebrate the efforts of our students who have been focused towards their goals throughout the pandemic.”
