Building confidence through self-defence
Apeejay School, Saket faculty members participate in a practical training session conducted by the Delhi Police
A Self-Defence Techniques Programme was organised by the South District, Delhi Police, for the women teaching faculty of Apeejay School, Saket. The initiative aimed to equip the participants with essential self-defence skills while fostering greater awareness, confidence and preparedness to deal with situations that may pose a threat to personal safety.
The programme featured a practical and interactive training session, during which the participating teachers were introduced to basic self-defence techniques and strategies for responding effectively during emergencies. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, the faculty members learnt simple yet useful techniques that can help them respond appropriately in potentially challenging situations.
The session also emphasised the importance of remaining alert and aware of one’s surroundings. The trainers provided valuable guidance on recognising situations that may require caution and responding with presence of mind. The practical nature of the programme enabled the participants to understand how awareness, quick thinking and appropriate physical responses can play an important role in ensuring personal safety.
The teachers participated enthusiastically in the various activities and demonstrations conducted during the session. The hands-on approach allowed them to practise the techniques under guidance, making the learning experience engaging and informative.
The programme served as a meaningful initiative towards promoting personal safety and preparedness among the female faculty members. It also highlighted the importance of self-awareness and confidence in responding to unforeseen situations.
