Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, is proud to share a moment of glory as Abbas Hasnain, a bright and determined student of Class XII, bagged the Second Prize in the Group Discussion category at the much-acclaimed CODE-2025. This Inter-school technology event was hosted by Apeejay School, Noida and saw enthusiastic participation from top schools across the region.

The Group Discussion segment, known for its competitive and intellectually stimulating format, was one of the highlights of the fest. Participants had to demonstrate not only fluency and clarity in communication but also quick thinking, analytical ability, and teamwork. Abbas stood out among a pool of talented contenders with his sharp insights and calm composure throughout the discussion.

A blend of intellect and expression

Abbas’s performance reflected his deep understanding of current issues and his ability to present diverse perspectives thoughtfully. His strong communication skills, coupled with logical reasoning and confidence, made a lasting impression on the judges. With a calm demeanour, he articulated his points convincingly and responded to counterpoints with poise.

Ms Mukta Amba, PGT Computer Science, shared, “Events like group discussions offer students a platform to engage with each other and deliberate over interesting topics related to the tech world. Such events encourage critical thinking, clear articulation and collaborative problem solving. They also cultivate confidence, broaden perspectives, and spark innovation through healthy debate. Students learn to navigate complexity, defend their ideas, and grow into well-rounded thinkers prepared for challenges in the ever-evolving tech world.”

Speaking about his experience, Abbas said, “My experience at CODE 2025 was both enriching and full of valuable learning. Having attended CODE in 2022 and 2024, and winning two awards in the 2022 edition, I was excited to participate again this year. In the prelims, my group was given the topic: Is gene editing through CRISPR-Cas9 the new way towards human evolution? It was a relatively new concept for me, but I approached it from the perspective of advocating responsible use.”

The final round posed another challenging topic: Are oligarchies important for competition and innovation in tech? “In the end, I secured the second position. I was very happy with my achievement, and I want to continue winning laurels for my school,” he shared.

Fostering leadership through dialogue

The achievement underscores the school’s emphasis on nurturing leadership and communication skills among students. Such accolades not only motivate students but also set inspiring benchmarks for others to follow. The school community congratulates Abbas Hasnain on this well-deserved success and wishes him the very best for his future endeavours.
