Apeejay Technical Campus successfully organised a five-day MSME Bridge Certificate Workshop under the auspices of the MSME Department, Government of Punjab, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hand Tools (CIHT), Jalandhar. The workshop aimed to equip participants with in-depth knowledge on Financial Management, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
The inaugural session was led by Chartered Accountant Rishab Jain, who delivered a comprehensive overview of the evolution, structure, and impact of GST in India. He emphasised, “The introduction of GST has transformed India’s indirect tax landscape, creating a unified and more efficient taxation system.” Participants were introduced to the basic framework of GST and its significance in improving ease of doing business in the country.

On the second day, CA Jain delved deeper into key GST components such as the time of supply, various GST rates, and their direct implications on business operations. His session provided clarity on how to navigate the GST structure effectively, especially from the perspective of entrepreneurs and financial professionals.
The third day featured a session by Mr. Pardeep Kumar Verma, Principal Director of CIHT, who is also associated with the Ministry of MSME. Mr. Verma focused on government support mechanisms for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), elaborating on MSME subsidies and schemes and promoting the use of the GeM portal. He encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage the digital marketplace and shared success stories of MSMEs that have benefited from government initiatives.

The final two days saw a more hands-on approach to GST. CA Jain conducted a live demonstration on the GST portal, offering participants practical exposure to filing processes, returns, and other essential tasks. The concluding sessions addressed GST audits, litigation procedures, penalties, and anticipated future trends in the GST domain.
The workshop was met with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who found the sessions both informative and enriching. The blend of theoretical understanding and practical experience offered a holistic learning opportunity.
The success of the workshop reflects Apeejay Technical Campus’s commitment to providing industry-relevant education and bridging the gap between academia and professional practice.
