Which are states that have allowed reopening of schools from September ?

As India witnesses a decline in Covid-19 cases and the vaccination drive picks up pace, several states and UTs have decided to resume physical classes with Covid safety protocols from September. Let us look at the fine print of the reopening process: 

DELHI

Delhi schools, colleges and coaching institutes will reopen in September in phases.

UTTAR PRADESH

Physical classes in schools for students of grades 1 to 5 will resume on September 1. Earlier, the state government had given permission for secondary schools to resume offline teaching for classes 9-12 from August 16.

HARYANA

The Haryana government has decided to open the schools for classes 4 and 5 from September 1. In July, the state government decided to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12 from July 16 and for classes 6 to 8 from July 23.

TELANGANA

The Telangana government has decided to reopen all schools and Anganwadi centres from September 1.

GUJARAT

The Gujarat government on Wednesday announced that the schools will also open for Classes 6 to 8 from September 2 with 50 per cent capacity and parents’ approval. It’s already allowed the resumption of physical classes for classes 9 to 11 over a month ago.

PUDUCHERRY

The schools in Puducherry will resume from September 1 for classes 9 to 12 with 50% capacity.

TAMIL NADU

Classes 9-12 students will attend classes from September 1 with 50 per cent attendance.
