His ability to articulate his thoughts and emotions not only showcases his literary prowess, but also allows readers to relate to and reflect on their own experiences of stepping into the world of middle school. He is a class 6 student of Apeejay School, Faridabad in Sector 15. Read on edited excerpts from the interview:

Please tell us about yourself.

I like Science. Therefore, I love to explore more and more Science-based theories. I am particularly interested in the field of Biology. In future, I hope to become a doctor after my grandfather. He was a celebrated practitioner who bagged several honours for his contribution to medicine. An admirable quality I wish to imbibe from him is his dedication to ethical and fair practice.

Why did you choose to write about your school as part of Scholar-Journalist?

I entered the sixth grade in school and my experience has been marvellous. I am excited about being part of the new wing. I heard many things about it and now it is coming to reality. I am pleasantly surprised by the tons of opportunities made available to us in the school such as the different extracurricular-based clubs. I am keen to join one based on Artificial Intelligence.

What did your first week of school look like?

I explored the entire school during the break. I tried to absorb the atmosphere and feeling. Besides, I was happy to interact with my seniors. They were kind and courteous towards me.

This year, I am hoping to do my best both in academics and sports.

In this summer break, what are your plans?

At present, I am volunteering to create a green belt in our society. As part of it, every week, I am planting trees and taking care of them. This is a community-based initiative. Besides, I am also learning tennis. I may travel to Shimla with my family for a vacation soon.

Super! Any writing tips for your classmates?

Try to learn new words and focus on increasing your vocabulary. Dwell more on the topic you wish to write on.
