NEET is not just an exam; it is a watershed in the lives of aspiring medical professionals. Its rigorous preparation process, competitive nature, and the opportunities it opens up make it a formidable yet rewarding endeavour. For a resilient student like Paridhi Gupta, it is important to embrace the challenge with determination and vigour since it is a stepping stone toward a fulfilling career in medicine.

With a percentile of 96.2, this Apeejay School, Greater Noida pass-out shares how she romped through the preparation by going through a game-changing experience.

What are your subjects in NEET?

I opted for PCB for my senior classes and the same subjects are required for the NEET exam- Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. I had a percentile of 96.2.

How did you prepare for it along with the Boards?

NEET is one of the toughest competitive exams as the number of candidates appearing is very high. Almost 24 lakh students took the exam this year. Hence being consistent throughout my preparation was very important as I also had to prepare for my Boards simultaneously. Studying for Boards helped me cover up my class XII. I also made sure that I kept revising class XI during the long leaves during Board exams.

What was your preparation strategy and timetable?

My target was clear throughout the two years of preparation. I made sure to avoid all distractions and stay focused. I revised regularly, took tests, and solved questions regularly. It helped me improve my score a lot. Instead of sticking to a fixed schedule, I gave myself daily targets to complete several chapters and did not count the hours it took me to do so.

Any tips for future NEET aspirants?

NEET is an exam that doesn’t test you entirely based on your knowledge but on your hard work and consistency throughout those stressful preparation years. Aspirants who manage to handle the pressure and keep themselves mentally calm while being focused have far higher chances of succeeding. Keeping in touch with your hobbies and your family helps a lot. Practicing questions is the most crucial thing to crack this exam.
