‘My special best friend’

Published

on

If you ask, who is my best friend, than I would answer it straight away. But,if someone ask you who is your special best friend, some struggle to find it. I have a very very special friend, –the books. Books give us knowledge and wisdom. Be it young or old,  books are always there with you. I love reading books. I feel something that we call true joy when I read a book. “The only way to touch the sky is to make friendship with books” is a famous quote. Famous personality such as Dr. BR Ambedkar, APJ Abdul Kalam , Swami Vivekananda, Sudha Murty etc. achieved their goals while reading a lot of books. I have composed a poem-

Book –book you are my friend, you are the best

I say you are not just my friend, you are my best friend

I had a lot of fun while reading you my best friend

You give me new things to learn

You fill my life with love and fun

I just can not wait to read you

Book you are my friend you are the best.

This poem shows that the books are my true best friend. Some books are fiction while some are non-fiction. Now I want to share with you some books that I have read and what values they have taught me. From Akbar Birbal-wit and wisdom, encyclopedia-science, Jakanta tales-lord Buddha’s teaching, the unusual tales about women in mythology, and many more.

Books make us more creative. I believe if some one reads a lot of books, he or she will surely achieve their goal. Books are like our teachers. they let us learn and have fun.

Books are the most precious things in the world. My favourite book is a visual dictionary . It is like an encyclopedia that gives us detailed explanation of one of the hardest chapters in science in the simplest way of text. My favourite author is Sudha Murty. When I read her inspiring words , I feel like I am floating in the sky of knowledge .

“ A room without books is like a body without a soul”.
