I am Chirag Kapoor and I am currently enrolled in the PGDM programme at Apeejay School of Management. I chose to pursue my PGDM from Apeejay due to its distinguished reputation for delivering a well-rounded education. The comprehensive curriculum, esteemed faculty, and emphasis on practical learning align perfectly with my career aspirations.

During my internship as a Placement Operations Intern at Sunstone, my responsibilities encompassed various aspects of the placement process. I managed interviews, coordinated with both companies as well as candidates and ensured smooth logistics during placement events. This experience provided me with profound insights into the recruitment ecosystem. Working at Sunstone exposed me to the challenges and intricacies of talent acquisition, offering a comprehensive view of the hiring process from both perspectives.

This internship was instrumental in making me industry-ready. Actively participating in placement activities enabled me to anticipate recruiters’ needs and understand job seekers’ preferences. This practical exposure aided in the development of strong interpersonal skills, effective communication strategies, and professionalism—essential traits in the corporate world. Moreover, I gained insights into organisations’ candidate assessment and selection methods, which will undoubtedly prove valuable as I progress in my career.

The internship bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, significantly accelerating my learning curve. Applying classroom concepts in real-world scenarios within the fast-paced and dynamic nature of placement operations enhanced my adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills. This experiential learning acted as a catalyst for personal and professional growth, contributing to a more comprehensive perspective on business operations.

Throughout my internship, I acquired several key lessons that will endure throughout my career. My multitasking abilities were refined, allowing me to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. I gained a lot of appreciation for precision and attention to detail, recognising that even minor communication or scheduling errors could yield significant consequences. Additionally, I mastered the art of negotiation and conflict resolution, skillfully balancing the interests of candidates and companies while maintaining positive relationships.

Apeejay School of Management played a pivotal role in preparing me for this internship. The institution’s rigorous academic curriculum, supplemented by practical case studies and industry interactions, established a strong foundation in management principles. The emphasis on teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication in the classroom seamlessly translated into my internship experience. Moreover, the guidance of experienced faculty members and exposure to industry experts through guest lectures provided insights that proved invaluable during my tenure at Sunstone.
