Subhankar Chakraborty,  a student at Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) in Jalandhar, is passionate about pursuing a career as a business analyst. In his endeavour to ace in the field of business analytics, Subhankar is on a journey of learning new skills. He has recently started his internship with Glet Carafe, a technology firm which focuses on state of the art technology in the fields of AI. Let’s know more about his aspirations in this interview. Read edited excerpts:

How did you prepare yourself for the internship selection?

Preparing for the internship selection was a blend of research and introspection. I delved into Glet Carafe’s projects, read about their values, and pondered over how my skills could contribute. It wasn’t just about showcasing technical skills but aligning my passion for analytics with the company’s ethos. Brushing up on Power BI was part of it, but more importantly, it was about understanding how I could genuinely make an impact.

How has been your internship experience so far? What are your learning goals?

Interning at Glet Carafe is an enriching experience. As  I am in the early stages, my focus is on absorbing insights from every project and understanding the company’s workflow.

My learning goals extend beyond the technical aspects. I aim to comprehend the intricate dynamics of client interactions, delve into how strategies unfold in the practical business landscape, and master the art of balancing data with compelling human stories. Each day brings a mix of challenges and victories, precisely what I was looking for in an internship experience.

Do you wish to pursue your career as a business analyst? Any dream company?

Absolutely. I’ve realised it’s not just a career path for me; it’s a passion. As for dream companies, I’m drawn to places where innovation is a way of life. Bain & Company as well as Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have been a beacon for their transformative impact; and Google and Microsoft, for their culture of pushing boundaries and constant learning.

How has the institute been helping you to pursue your goals?

The institute has been my launchpad. It’s not just about classes; it’s about the ecosystem they’ve created. The faculty isn’t just teaching; they’re mentors, helping me navigate the real challenges. The industry exposure, from workshops to networking events, has been crucial. This internship at Glet Carafe is a testament to the institute’s commitment to turning aspirations into reality.
