The Covid-19 lockdown has come as a perfect opportunity for most students to hone their skills and explore their innate talent. Harshvardhan Rathore, a Medical student of Class XII at Apeejay School Svran Global, Faridabad has participated in the Inter School Essay Writing Competition, called “Expressions” organised by Modern School, Faridabad.

He has secured the first position for his essay on the National Skill Development Programme in India which, according to him, has improved the Indian economy. He observed that the programme has helped youth seek employment and tackle financial instability, by further boosting their self-confidence. “I also like to utilise my time in reading books. I am currently reading Ikigai, a book on the Japanese way of living through which I am learning and inculcating life skills,” says Rathore.

He has further secured the first position in the intra-school English Extempore competition, “The Quintessence” at Apeejay Svran Global, Faridabad and bagged the first position. In his speech, he compared hard-work to smart-work.

“Every accomplishment starts with a decision to try. All our students should keep winning and make us proud.”
