Beginning college is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring uncertainty and hesitation. Recognising the importance of making new students feel welcomed and connected, Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, organised “Get Set, Connect,” an engaging ice-breaking session under the aegis of its Cultural Committee. The initiative aimed to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere where seniors and juniors could interact freely, build meaningful relationships, and begin the new academic session on a positive note.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome that immediately set an enthusiastic and encouraging tone. Senior students introduced themselves and extended a heartfelt welcome to the incoming batch, encouraging them to actively participate in the activities and make the most of their campus experience. They emphasised that college life extends far beyond academics and that strong peer relationships play an important role in personal growth, confidence building, and professional development.

Designed to foster open communication and teamwork, the session featured interactive activities that encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones while enjoying themselves. The first activity paired seniors with juniors, providing an opportunity to engage in informal conversations through interesting prompts and light-hearted discussions. This activity helped participants get acquainted, easing initial nervousness and creating an environment of mutual respect and comfort.

One of the highlights of the session was the lively Truth or Dare activity, which brought energy and excitement to the event. Students enthusiastically accepted fun challenges, shared amusing experiences, and showcased their creativity and spontaneity. The activity generated laughter and enthusiasm while encouraging participants to interact naturally, strengthening bonds through shared experiences and teamwork.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across both batches. The vibrant atmosphere reflected the initiative’s success in breaking down barriers that often exist between new and senior students. Conversations flowed effortlessly as participants exchanged stories, discovered common interests, and formed new friendships expected to continue throughout their academic journey.

Beyond the enjoyable activities, the session served a deeper purpose by promoting inclusivity, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging. Juniors gained confidence as they interacted with their seniors in an informal setting, while seniors embraced the opportunity to mentor and support the newest members of the ASM community. The interactions helped create an environment where students felt comfortable seeking guidance, sharing ideas, and participating actively in campus life.

The programme also reinforced the importance of teamwork and interpersonal skills—qualities essential for future managers and business leaders. By encouraging meaningful interactions from the very beginning of the academic session, the event laid the foundation for a collaborative and supportive learning culture within the institute.

The event concluded on a cheerful note, leaving participants with lasting memories, newfound friendships, and a stronger sense of community. “Get Set, Connect” proved to be a successful initiative that reflected Apeejay School of Management’s commitment to creating a welcoming campus environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow. Through such thoughtfully designed engagements, ASM continues to nurture not only academic excellence but also the interpersonal skills and collaborative spirit that define successful professionals.
