On May 29, 2024, Apeejay School, Model Town, became the hub of educational innovation with its workshop titled Strengthening of Existing Practices at the Preparatory Stage as per the NEP 2020. This session brought together the school’s educators to delve into the transformative potentials of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aimed at revolutionising India’s educational landscape.

During the workshop, Officiating Principal Ms Priyanka Grover eloquently outlined the vision of NEP 2020. “This policy is not merely a change; it’s a revolution set to equip our young learners with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century,” she declared. She emphasized how the policy shifts from traditional rote learning to an exhilarating journey of discovery, critical thinking, and creativity.

Fostering Inclusivity and Innovation

Ms Grover portrayed the NEP as a vibrant tapestry, interwoven with inclusivity, innovation, and comprehensive growth. It encourages an educational approach that promotes critical thinking and creative problem-solving among students, preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow. “The NEP envisions an education system that ignites curiosity and fosters an enduring passion for learning among students,” she added.

The Vanguard Role of Teachers

Highlighting the crucial role of educators, Ms Grover discussed the application of Bloom’s Taxonomy in reshaping teaching strategies to foster cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills. “Teachers are the frontline warriors in this educational renaissance, guiding students to higher levels of thinking and application,” she noted.

The workshop also focused on the power of collaborative efforts in educational success. “Our strength lies in our unity; the combined efforts of our diverse talents lead us to extraordinary outcomes,” Ms. Grover emphasized. She stressed the importance of teamwork and mutual support among teachers to effectively implement the NEP’s innovative strategies.

Evaluating Workshop Impact and Teacher Engagement

The event concluded on a high note with educators expressing their readiness to embrace and implement the new methodologies. The interactive sessions allowed them to explore practical aspects of the NEP, fostering a proactive attitude towards adopting these new teaching paradigms.

The educators participated in hands-on activities that modeled the NEP’s active learning strategies. These activities not only demonstrated how to integrate these practices into their daily teaching but also highlighted the importance of adaptability and continuous improvement in educational methods.

The enthusiastic participation of the faculty underscored their commitment to transforming education at Apeejay Education.
