A student of class III from Apeejay Svran Global, Lavish Sachdeva won the second rank in the All India Rubik’s Cube Championship and the third rank in the All India Abacus Championship organised by Abacus Champs Academy.

Lavish secured the prestigious rank in abacus level 5 after competing with children from across the nation. In Rubik’s Cube, he showcased his talent by solving a 2×2 cube in less than a minute.

Lavish was felicitated along with the other winners at an award ceremony held at Dilli Haat auditorium in Janakpuri, Delhi.

The Apeejay student was in class I when he bagged a Gold in the Olympiads. Since then, he has been participating and winning accolades in various competitions. Passionate about mathematics, the young talent was also selected recently for the “Gifted Kids programme” by LogIQids in partnership with TechFest IIT Bombay.

Lavish’s father Vikas Sachdeva said, “Through these competitions, children are able to develop social skills which took a back seat in the pandemic. Lavish has begun interacting with people a lot more earlier. He has become more competitive as well. He has become more enthusiastic about participating in contests and winning accolades.”

Activities like abacus or Rubik’s Cube also boost cognitive ability, he added. “Academically, Lavish has always been a good performer. And he continues to better himself.”
