Christmas joy

It was a typical winter day, with a cold and dim haze enveloping the sky. Thick fog blanketed the surroundings, obscuring visibility and rendering the front of the society barely discernible. The sun struggled to pierce through the cloud cover, and a blanket of snow concealed the ground, concealing any trace of green grass beneath.

Julia sighed, “Ugh, I am so bored. What are we supposed to do?”

Hannah shared her sentiment, replying, “Don’t look at me; I am equally as bored as you.”

Julia noted, “And we can’t even go to the office because it’s closed for construction. So now we have holidays!”

Hannah exclaimed, “Holidays!”

Julia clarified, “Yeah, I know. Please don’t remind me.”

Hannah excitedly pointed out, “No, Julia, holidays! It’s Christmas!”

Julia realised, “Oh right, we need to decorate.”

Julia then suggested, “Okay! You take the kitchen—”

Hannah interjected, “We don’t have any supplies.”

Julia conceded, “Oh… Well, we need to go to the store then.”

Hannah agreed, “Okay, then go get ready.”

After preparing, the two girls hopped into the car and headed to the store. Upon entering, they secured a cart and began their search for Christmas decorations.

Julia contemplated, “Okay, for themes, I have some ideas like Winter Wonderland or classic red and green.”

Hannah proposed, “What about red and white, like peppermints and candy canes?”

Julia agreed, “Yeah, sure, why not?”

After a two-hour shopping spree, they returned home exhausted. Given the late hour, they decided to postpone decorating until the next day.

The following morning, Julia eagerly woke Hannah, and after getting ready and cleaning the house, they convened in the living room.

Julia planned, “Now that we know where everything is going, let’s start decorating.”

Hannah agreed, “Okay, let’s start.”

They decorated tirelessly, taking a break for lunch and continuing throughout the day. After dinner, they marveled at the beauty of their decorated home.

Hannah exclaimed, “Ah, everything looks so beautiful.”

Julia concurred, “I know; it’s so pretty.”

When they realised it was already midnight, they decided to call it a night, expressing their contentment with the festive ambiance.

Five days later, the girls woke up excitedly, rushing to the Christmas tree to find gifts from Santa Claus. Overjoyed with their presents, they opened them one by one.

Julia cheered, “Yay! I got the phone I wanted.”

Hannah exclaimed, “Oh my gosh! I finally got this blanket I wanted.”

After exchanging gifts and attending a party with friends, they thanked God for the beautiful day and went to sleep, grateful for the joyous Christmas they had shared.
