In a dazzling display of tradition, enthusiasm, and unity, Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector-15, illuminated its campus on August 26, 2023, for the annual Investiture Ceremony. This event marked a significant juncture in the school’s calendar, as it welcomed a new cohort of student council members, empowering them to shoulder leadership roles and responsibilities with pride and commitment.
The ceremony’s aura was elevated by the presence of esteemed guests, including the Chief Guest, Dr IPS Oberoi, a distinguished alumnus from the 1988 batch, at present is serving as the Director of Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Joint Reconstruction, and Arthroscopic Surgery at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon. Also gracing the occasion was Mrs Purnima Vohra, an Education Officer from Apeejay Education, who exemplified the institute’s unwavering commitment to fostering holistic growth.
Commencing the event, the lighting of the lamp served as a profound reminder that knowledge, much like light, eradicates ignorance. The newly appointed council members were adorned with sashes and badges, symbolising their official positions as Head Boy, Head Girl, School Captains, House Captains, Vice Captains, Sports Captains, Cultural Coordinators, and more. As these young leaders took their oath, pledging allegiance to their duties and the school’s values, a palpable sense of responsibility and anticipation enveloped the auditorium.
Dr Oberoi, addressing all, reiterated the importance of responsibility that the office bearers have to take. He guided them to be worthy role models for their peers through their exemplary temperaments.
In addition, Mrs Anita Yadav, principal, Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector-15, proudly congratulated the student council members on their new roles. She spoke about the importance of leadership and how it goes beyond just holding positions of authority. She urged the student council members to lead with empathy, integrity, and dedication.
The programme also offered a glimpse into the lives of distinguished alumni, who had previously held council positions during their time at Apeejay School. These alumni, now accomplished professionals in various fields, shared their experiences, underlining the invaluable life skills they gained – skills like teamwork, decision-making, and time management. Their presence inculcated a sense of legacy and inspiration, reminding the current students that their actions today shape the path they will tread tomorrow.
It is evident that such events have an indelible impact on young minds. They instill confidence, encourage responsibility, and ignite the spark of leadership. Apeejay’s Investiture Ceremony is not merely a ritual; it’s a stepping stone that propels students toward leadership, teaching them the essence of empathy, integrity, and dedication. Leadership is not just about wielding authority; it’s about leading by example, inspiring others, and creating positive change.
Finally, Apeejay’s commitment to fostering leadership is commendable. The Investiture Ceremony serves as a beacon of motivation, illuminating the path for all students to embrace responsibility and channel their potential constructively. By providing students with real-world leadership experiences, the school prepares them for the dynamic challenges that lie ahead.
This event is a testament to the institute’s unwavering dedication to molding not just successful individuals, but responsible and impactful leaders of tomorrow. In conclusion, students learned that leadership is about embodying values, inspiring change, and leaving a lasting impact.
