Apeejayites wave the Tiranga proudly

India is going through a momentous phase at present as the nation gears up to celebrate its 75th anniversary of independence this week. The entire nation is resplendent in the festive fervour as several cultural events under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative led by the Government of India are underway.

To commemorate the nation’s legendary tryst with freedom, a special assembly was organised at the Primary wing of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park.  

The special assembly was organised to pay homage to our national flag as well as help  students know the history of the ‘Tricolour or Tiranga’. 

The tricolour flag is a symbol of pride for every Indian. It represents national integrity and signifies the hopes as well as aspirations of Indians. The students of the school presented a plethora of cultural performances including patriotic dance presentations, songs performances, speeches on national integrity and talk on the history of the National Flag. They also sang the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ song with great pride and enthusiasm as they carried the national flag in their hands. 

Kavya Vijay Kumar, Head Girl of the Primary School said, “I felt very good while singing the Har Ghar Tiranga song in the assembly. Every child held the national flag and it felt very beautiful as they waved it. I felt a spirit of freedom all around.”  The head girl who wants to become a doctor and help the nation in the future also added that the school helps her a lot by enabling her to become a responsible citizen who understands the value of freedom.

Speaking about the assembly, Mrs. Rekha Srivastava, Head of the Activity Department said, “In sync with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by the Government of India, we prepared the students from classes 3-5. They are all so passionately celebrating India’s independence. The assembly was based on the theme: Progressive India. Students staged an excellent dance performance on the iconic song ‘Ye jo desh hai mera’ from Swades movie. The others sang the Har Ghar Tiranga song melodiously. Class 2 students recited many patriotic poems. It was a beautiful cultural programme that enlightened the minds of the little ones.”

Further, Shweta Oberoi, Primary Incharge and key organiser of this assembly said, “Our nation is celebrating the 75th Independence anniversary.The tricolour flag is a symbol of pride for every Indian. It represents national integrity and signifies the hopes and aspirations of the Indian people.  Every child of the Primary wing of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park has shown their patriotism by holding the Indian flag in their hand and singing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ song.  The children have presented a plethora of cultural performances which have rekindled a sense of pride and love for the nation. I congratulate them all!”
