This parent chose Apeejay School, Tanda Road, because the school has a brand name and enjoys a legacy that is decades old. Another reason was convenience. The school is very close to the family residence; it takes only about five to ten minutes to reach. “From a safety point of view, this school gives us the confidence that our child is within reach,” Shilpa Sharma, whose daughter Samriddhi is studying in Class V here, said.
In an impromptu interview, the mother talks about the changes in her daughter from the time she joined the school, among other things.
What impressed you when you first visited the school?
I really liked the way the teachers and staff attended to me. They made me feel comfortable from the beginning. The receptionist and teachers showed me the classroom where my child would sit and explained who would be teaching her. They took the time to show me everything properly. That experience left a very positive impression on me. It was one of the reasons I felt that my child should study at Apeejay School.
How has the school helped your daughter become confident and independent?
The school has played a very important role in her overall development. One thing I have noticed is that the children here learn how to express themselves and communicate confidently. They learn how to speak to others, how to greet people, and how to present their thoughts properly. Children may learn many things at home, but teachers give that learning a direction.
Which extracurricular activities does she enjoy the most?
She enjoys dancing the most. Apart from dancing, she is also very interested in drawing and kickboxing. She already had an interest and talent in drawing, but her teachers helped her develop it further. A child may have talent, but they also need the right platform and encouragement. The school and her teachers have helped provide that platform to her.
Her journey in kickboxing also began at school as an activity. Over time, she progressed and went on to represent the school in kickboxing, and the credit goes to her sports teacher.
How do the teachers keep you informed about Samriddhi’s progress?
The school conducts parent-teacher meetings regularly. These meetings allow us to interact directly with the teachers and understand how our child is progressing. One thing I especially appreciate about Apeejay School, Tanda Road, is that the teachers know their students very well. They understand each child’s strengths as well as the areas that need improvement.
Is there a moment when Samriddhi made you particularly proud?
She makes me proud at every stage. She has performed twice on PTC Punjabi Channel. One of those performances was when she was studying in Class I. She has also participated in and won several competitions. Seeing her participate confidently in different activities and achieve recognition at various levels has been a very proud experience for me as a parent.
