The CBSE results class 12 for the session 2024–25 brought immense joy and pride to Apeejay School, Nerul, as two students emerged among the school’s top scorers. With an outstanding CBSE results percentage, these achievers from the CBSE class of 2025 are a testament to focused preparation, determination, and smart study techniques. In this conversation, toppers Utkarsh Kothari and Akshat Mehta shared their inspiring journeys.
Utkarsh Kothari: Scoring 98.2% in Commerce with Smart Strategy
Utkarsh Kothari, a Class XII student from the Commerce stream, secured a remarkable 98.2% in the CBSE board result. Fascinated by economics and business studies, Utkarsh said, “These subjects felt real and applicable. As the Head Boy, I often used the principles of management from our Business Studies textbook – it made learning incredibly meaningful.”
When asked about his study strategy, Utkarsh credited mock tests as his key to success. “I solved over 100 sample papers. It helped me pinpoint errors – whether it was time management in accountancy or accuracy in applied mathematics.” Despite facing several challenges on exam days, Utkarsh remained grounded. “I didn’t expect more than 95%, but when I saw 98.2% on the calculator, I was electrified.”
Interestingly, Utkarsh chose to stay away from social media for eight months. “I used my mother’s phone only to coordinate with friends. That digital detox gave me time for studies and entrance prep.” His mother, a mentor for CA aspirants, helped him by planning weekly schedules. “She structured my time for both boards and IPMAT. I just followed her plan blindly,” he added.
Now, Utkarsh awaits results for the IIM Indore IPMAT entrance and dreams of studying at IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, or Calcutta, aiming for a career in venture capital or investment banking.
Akshat Mehta: Conceptual Clarity Led to 97% in Non-Medical
Another bright star from Apeejay School, Nerul is Akshat Mehta, who scored 97% in the CBSE class XII results from the Non-Medical stream. “I focused more on conceptual clarity than just solving questions. Most of my preparation was from NCERT, which helped both for board results and entrance exams,” he explained.
When it came to consistency, Akshat believed in regular efforts. “Don’t study 14 hours one day and skip the next. Study 6–7 hours consistently,” he advised juniors. With entrance exams around the corner, he is now gearing up for JEE Advanced and has his eyes set on IIT Bombay.
