This Mother’s Day, I pondered upon the thought that if one day is enough to celebrate and honour Motherhood? And I think maybe it’s a ‘No’.

There is a famous Sanskrit saying- मातृदेवो भव (Matrudevobhava), which means “Let your Mother be God to You”. Even if you are an Atheist, it is just a plain fact that our mothers created us. She is the “Creator”. So this is a Letter to my Creator and her Creator.

First of all, Thank You for everything! I may not say it everyday but I think I should thank you more often and not just on this special day dedicated to you. Indeed life teaches numerous lessons in its own way, but you have always tried to protect me from the harsh sun. Be it you asking me ten times if I am okay, When I just say I am not feeling better or be it supporting me even when I have made the dumbest decisions. The fact that I can make strong independent decisions today is all  because of you. You have made me realize no matter what the world says I have to keep my head up. It’s indeed a true saying “Chin up princess or the crown falls”.

Throughout all these years, you have put strong emphasis on it. My Work-Ethics, Passion towards achieving something, all of it is inspired by you. On grim days, I search for nobody but you and the moment I hug you, all of me melts. It feels like I am back to my home, I am back to myself. I feel complete. I love you so much and this letter might not be able to suffice all of this. I vow to do everything in my power to make you proud.
