‘Apeejay is a family legacy school for us which needs no convincing’
Suraj Churiwal shares how choosing Apeejay School, Nerul, proved to be a fruitful decision
With family members who have studied at Apeejay School, Nerul for close to 20 years, Suraj Churiwal didn’t need much convincing when it came to admitting his son, Yuvan. In this conversation, he speaks candidly about what’s changed at the school over the years and how teachers helped his son during the pandemic.
What factors did you consider before joining Apeejay?
The first factor was that it was near our house, so it was very comfortable for us to drop Yuvan. The second was purely from an education point of view in Navi Mumbai. Apeejay has a very good reputation when it comes to teaching and education. We made the decision based on transportation and academic reputation.
You mentioned the teaching and education reputation. How have your expectations been met with Apeejay so far?
Yes, our expectations are fulfilled and it seems great seeing Yuvan growing day by day. From infrastructure to sports to education, I am satisfied with the guidance Apeejay School, Nerul is providing him.
What about the teaching method and quality of education?
The teachers are very good, and the teaching itself is excellent. We admitted him right from the start, and it’s been that way ever since. They are approachable and have genuine subject knowledge. Teachers understand that education is not about marks, but about doing something good for society.
Have you seen improvement in your son, both personality-wise and academically?
Yes, definitely. I’ll give you an example from the Covid period. Apeejay teachers were excellent even with online teaching. When the world faced disruption in online learning, I feel Apeejay handled it perfectly.
The teachers finished the entire curriculum online with the children, and the best part was that they genuinely learned during those online classes. The teaching stayed on par with in-person classes even during Covid.
What about the excursion trips the school organises? Do you think it enhances fun learning?
Those have been very good. We have had a very positive experience with the excursions. My son has always enjoyed and listening to his conversations at home about the trip shows that I made the right decision to select Apeejay.
