Meet Viraj Sinha, a 14-year-old student of class IX at Apeejay School, Faridabad in Sector 15 with an insatiable passion for baking. What began as a casual exploration during the COVID-19 era has blossomed into a full-fledged journey into the world of baking. From experimenting with simple cakes to delving deep into the intricacies of traditional baking, Viraj’s journey has been nothing short of transformative.

“During lockdown everyone was involved in some or the other activity or hobby. I picked up baking on a casual note not knowing that eventually it will become a passion I cannot live without,” expressed Viraj.

For this young begetter, baking transcends mere hobby status; it has evolved into a profound passion. The hours spent with his baking tools fly by unnoticed, enveloped in the tantalising aroma of freshly baked treats that fuel his inspiration. It’s a calling he couldn’t ignore, a path he feels compelled to pursue with unwavering dedication.

“I devote my time to baking during Saturdays and Sundays. Rest of the days I am busy with my studies. I aspire to become a pastry chef; and stay put in the revelry of enticing and tempting aroma of all kinds of ingredients,” Viraj said.

Supported wholeheartedly by his family, Viraj has embarked on a quest to refine his baking skills. He’s delved into numerous short courses, each one adding a new layer of expertise to his repertoire. Yet, amidst his personal endeavors, one standout achievement shines brightly.

He had the exceptional opportunity to work alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef at Hotel Pullman, Aerocity. Under their expert guidance, he immersed himself in the world of professional baking, learning and executing maneuvers with finesse. It was an experience that not only honed his skills but also ignited his passion even further.

“The most exciting part about baking is the art of decoration. After I have baked the product, I look forward to creating new and attractive decorative designs by bringing out my latent design aesthetic skills to life. And when someone compliments my decoration designs, I feel at the top of the world,” exclaims Viraj.

Through determination and perseverance, Viraj has transformed his initial curiosity into a full-fledged pursuit of excellence in baking. With each creation, he not only refines his craft but also nurtures his love for the art form. And with the unwavering support of his family and the invaluable mentorship he received, Viraj’s journey in the world of baking is poised to reach new heights of success.
