UPSC Prelims 2024: Essential exam day guidelines

Published

on

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Prelims Exam for 2024 will be conducted on June 16, 2024. Candidates should download and review their admit cards from the official websites upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. It’s essential to verify all details, including name, photograph, and QR code on the e-admit card. Any discrepancies should be reported to UPSC promptly.

On the exam day, candidates must bring a printout of their e-admit card and the original photo identity card mentioned in the e-admit card. Ensure that all details are correctly filled in on the OMR answer sheet, especially the roll number and test booklet series code, to avoid rejection of the answer sheet.

Entry to the examination venue will close 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Latecomers will not be permitted entry. The exam will feature negative markings for incorrect answers in both papers.

Only answers marked with a black ballpoint pen will be evaluated. Candidates whose e-admit card photograph is unclear or without their name and photograph date must bring a photo identity card and two passport-sized photographs with their name and date for each exam session, along with an undertaking.

The UPSC Prelims will be conducted in two shifts:

General Studies Paper 1 in the morning from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and the General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT) in the afternoon from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Candidates should carefully adhere to all guidelines to ensure a smooth exam process.
