Schools serve as a second home for children, providing a nurturing, supportive, and enriching environment where they grow, learn, and thrive. This can’t be truer for Apeejay Schools. “The parallels between home and Apeejay contribute to children’s sense of belonging, security, and well-being, shaping their experiences and memories for years to come,” shares Jubi Ramachandran whose daughter Siya studies in class XI at Apeejay School, Nerul.

 Excerpts from the interview

Why did you select Apeejay for your child?

We selected this school because I did not want my child to get into any integrated structure. My child has been studying in this school since nursery and it’s been a great learning journey so far. Besides this, Apeejay is located just next to our residential building and there is nothing more comforting than having a school in such proximity.

How are the teachers here?

The school staff boasts of some very senior teachers who come with great teaching experience and display efficient professionalism. My daughter has been blessed with such distinguished faculty that has taught her. The teachers here have performed their duty of completing the syllabus well in time and my daughter has learned from the best of the lot here.

What are Siya’s dreams and aspirations?

My child is now promoted to class XI and she has picked Science as her stream. She is clear about her goals and ambition in life, which is that she wants to pursue IT (Information Technology). Post class XII, she wants to pursue data analytics and AI (Artificial Intelligence) courses.

How is the balance between academics and extracurricular activities?

She has always been into sports at the school. She has participated in basketball and volleyball tournaments at the inter-school competitions. She has received several certificates for participation from Apeejay and is quite a well-known sportsperson at school.

Do you agree with the adage – that school is the second home for a child?

When it comes to disciplining a child, school is an irreplaceable entity in a child’s life. Children often take parents for granted or the parental approach towards their child is quite mild. In this scenario, the school maintains a healthy balance of nurturing a child holistically.

What is your parenting mantra?

I believe in following a disciplined lifestyle for my child. I want my child to adhere to valuable lessons of day-to-day life. We never force or pressurise our child into anything and believe in her decisions too.
