Pinky Mansoori’s son Ibrahim Nadim Mansoori joined Apeejay School, Nerul, in nursery and is now in class III. Over the years, the young boy has shown tremendous progress with the help and support of her teachers, says the mother who is currently on a work break. She tells us more about her overall experience with the school.

Edited excerpts:

Why did you pick Apeejay School, Nerul, for your son?

My husband, who was born and brought up in Nerul, was aware of Apeejay’s reputation for its quality education. For us, education was our priority over all other aspects while we were shortlisting schools. We realised no other school in the area was comparable to Apeejay School, Nerul, and that’s why we chose it.

What was your first impression of the school when you went for the admission interview?

My husband and I were in the room when my three-and-a-half-year-old son was being interviewed by Mrinalini ma’am at the time of admission. I was impressed to see how the teacher made him feel so comfortable that he promptly answered every question without our intervention. I felt assured that my child would be in good hands.

Has the school successfully developed your child’s interest in education?

When Ibrahim was in nursery, his class teacher, Debali ma’am, called me after barely 15 days of school. I was surprised to learn that my son was showing a lot of creativity in class. That’s when I understood my son’s capabilities. Since nursery, he has actively participated in every single competition and even won prizes in many. These activities have made him more confident and improved his communication and critical thinking skills.

The school has played a major role in making learning a fun exercise for Ibrahim. He has been growing consistently. He is good at studies as well. The teachers and I are working hand-in-hand to inculcate in him the habit of studying.

The school also focuses on human values. How has it impacted your son’s personality?

My son is growing up to be a responsible and mature person. He comes home and talks about all the values he has picked up in school. It is wonderful to see him preach these values to me and my husband!
