How to choose a career in the field of law?

School of Legal Studies, Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, recently organised a guest lecture on different career paths in the field of law, wherein students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Dr. Anupam Kurwal, Associate Professor at ULMS MDU, and author of many books on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), motivation, and self-help was the guest speaker for the event. He is renowned for his workshops on “Laws for Principals” and “Law as a Career” and has guided many law aspirants in terms of their career path.

The informative session started with a brief introduction to the field of law and how the practical world of lawyers and advocates work. Also, he guided the students about different “mantras” a law student should follow, such as following a dress code, working on oration and writing skills. The session continued on different career paths a law student can opt for.

Further, he emphasised on self-improvement and how the study of law requires constant input and hard work. Dr Kurwal also shared some distinctive advice on how students need to be social and interactive in nature in order to succeed in the sphere of law.

Archana Vashishth, Associate Professor at School of Legal Studies, Apeejay Stya University expressed, “If you want to move to a new level in your life, you must break through your comfort zone and practice doing things that are not comfortable.”
