How popular Korean band ‘BTS’ is winning hearts globally

There are many music genres such as Folk, Classical, Country, Hip-Hop and K-pop, just to name a few. But, at present, K-pop seems to have taken the world by storm.

K-pop or Korean pop music has become a huge success globally. Some of the most popular K-pop bands include BTS, Blackpink, Itzy, ENHYPEN, TXT, Twice, Straykids, Seventeen, etc.

Amongst these, BTS aka Bangtan Boys, enjoys a huge fan-base. In fact, the fans of this band are called the ‘BTS Army.’ A group of seven boys namely RM (Kim Nam Joon), Jin (Kim Soekjin), Suga (Min Yoongi), J Hope (Jung Ho Soek), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Taehyung), and Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) are part of this band. All of them have become worldwide youth icons.

Through their music, BTS promotes themes such as ‘Love Yourself’, ‘Stop Bullying’, ‘Stop Racism’, ‘Study Hard’, and ‘Follow Your Dreams’. This has had a huge impact and encouraged youngsters to become more respectful towards each other. For their immense dedication and work, BTS have won many awards including ‘Golden Disc Award 2022’, ‘Artist of the Year 2021’, ‘Daesang Award 2021’, and ‘Billboard Music Award for Top Selling Song 2022’.

Apart from performing at the Grammys and American Music Awards, BTS has also performed at the United Nations General Assembly. The group also launched a campaign called ‘Love Myself’ in collaboration with the United Nations. Due to this, BTS members were also invited to meet United States’ President Joe Biden at the Whitehouse for a discussion on anti-Asian hate and ways to curb it.

As music has the power to evoke emotions and win hearts, BTS is playing a wonderful role in steering a huge change and that is empowering many. Artists can take inspiration from them to work towards the larger good of the society.
