‘If there is no competition, there can be no progress,’ – goes the saying. And truly, a person strives to put their best foot forward when challenged.

Helping students push their intellectual boundaries, ‘The Wise Quacks’, a first-ever quiz mania, was recently organised for students of Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld in Jalandhar. In the contest, students were divided into sixteen teams such as Falcons, Champions, Warriors, Titans, Amigos and Ninjas, just to name a few.

There were four rounds in the quiz, direct questions round, audio round, visual round and buzzer round. And each team gave a tough competition to the other as this was a game involving mind, intellect, interest, power and joy. Dr. Pooja Arora, Professor with the Commerce and Management Department at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was the guest of honour for the event. The school’s principal, Mr. Malkiat Singh and Headmistress (Pre-Primary), Ms. Nidhi Ghai along with Headmistress (Primary) Ms. Namrata Sharma were also present.

According to Ms. Esha Goel, mother of student Rehaan, the contest helped boost her son’s confidence. She says, “All thanks to the teachers of the school and their hard work, my son’s performance in the quiz was great.”

Sharing the same sentiment, Mr. Sahil Syal, father of Dhruv says, “It was wonderful to see all the kids on the stage during the quiz competition. We enjoyed watching them participate.”

“The event was a great success and the spirit of learning was inculcated in the kids.  Without the support of the staff at Apeejay Rhythms, this would not have been possible. I look forward to attending more such events in the school,” says Ms. Kanchan Gulati Sachdeva, mother of Aahhaan, a student.

At the end of the competition, the results were announced. The direct questions round was won by team ‘Champions’ comprising students, Aahhaan Sachdeva, Adab Perhar, Anhad Perhar, Alia Jasuja, Aradhya Aggarwal and Gurnaaz Kaur. The ‘Titans’ team won the audio round which had Jyotsna, Kanishk Aggarwal, Mahi, Manan Shinh, Puraan Tiwari and Rehaan Goyal.

Showcasing a photographic memory, team ‘Amigos’ won the third round. Students, Naira Chatrath, Nyra Setia, Ryan Chopra, Shravya Bhagat, Tanushka Kumar and Arnav Nischal were part of it. Finally, the buzzer round was aced by all the students. All the winners were rewarded with medals and participants were given certificates.
