A victorious moment for Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus

In the recently concluded Annual Prize Distribution Function celebrated at AIMETC, Jalandhar, more than 300 meritorious students were awarded for their outstanding performance in academics and co-curricular activities.

Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar recently celebrated its Annual Prize Distribution Function in the campus. 

Mr. Rahul Bhandari, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) and Principal Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Madam Sushma Paul Berlia, co-promoter and President Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, chairman Apeejay Education and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University joined the prize distribution ceremony virtually. The event was presided over by other esteemed guests including Dr. S. K. Mishra, Registrar, IKGPTU, Shri Nirmal Mahajan, Member Board of Governors, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University.

The evening of the Prize Distribution Function 2022 began with the lighting of the lamp and subsequently, students of the institute presented a vibrant and enthralling cultural programme.

The chief guest Mr. Rahul Bhandari in his address to the students mentioned that they should check on the use of social media and instead try to focus more on traditional ways of receiving knowledge and education. He further encouraged the girls to pursue their dreams and not be burdened by obligations. Highlighting the patriotic spirit of Dr. Stya Paul ji, he mentioned, “Apeejayites should strive to work towards ‘Nation Building’, and the youth should channelise their energies in productive activities as well as be focused towards achieving their goals.”

Addressing the gathering virtually, Chairman Madam in her speech encouraged the students to pursue their dreams despite challenging circumstances. She shared the success mantra of the founder president that work was worship for him. “The present generation should also work wholeheartedly towards their goals,” she said.

Dr. S. K. Mishra talked about the need of entrepreneurial spirit amongst youth. He emphasised that students must focus on honing their entrepreneurial skills as it is the need of the hour. “Keep participating in intercollege competitions to unearth your confidence to take up an entrepreneurial journey.” 

This was followed by the distribution of prizes and certificates to the students for their accomplishments in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. Shriya Maini and Surbhi Sharma of MBA programme (in PG Category) and (in UG category) as well as Manya Wadhera and Vanshika Sharma of BBA and B Tech respectively were awarded with ‘Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values’ for exhibiting a high level of integrity in her behavior and conduct. They received a one-time scholarship of Rs. 10,000.

Plus, around 120 students were awarded academic prizes and 33 students were given prizes for their achievements in various inter-college competitions. More than 100 prizes were given for sports events and 175 students won prizes for cultural activities. 

Yogesh Kumar from MBA programme and Kamalpreet Kaur from B Tech programme were honoured as Mr. & Ms. Pinnacle 2021 respectively. Kumari Bhawna from MBA course won the Best Dancer Award and Abhinav Mittal, and Surbhi Sharma of MBA were awarded the Best Compere Prize. Abhishek of MCA won the Best Actor prize. Raghav Kapoor of MBA won Hindustan Ratan Award 2022 and Mr. India Globe 2022. 

Congratulating the winners, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institution said, “Our students have exhibited their strength and agility and won meritorious positions and medals. It is their perseverance that has won them laurels. I wish them good luck for their future endeavours.” He further informed the audience that AIMTC’s Campus Placement Programme this year has met with stupendous success as many reputed companies participated in it and recruited students of both MBA and MCA. 

Concluding the ceremony, Dr. Kulwant Kaur, Dean, School of Information Technology delivered the vote of thanks.
