A man in black coat: A short story

Published

on

It was raining hard that night. In a hurry to get into the house, I didn’t notice a black car parked across the road. I realised something was wrong when I saw a man wearing a black coat, sunglasses, and holding a gun in his hands. I was so afraid, but then I saw him heading towards my friend’s house. I ran home and told my parents all about that weird man and the gun. I was breathing heavily, and my parents tried to calm me down.

Upon hearing about the man, my parents called the police. They informed them that the man had a gun in his hands, which was enough to prompt the police into action. They went there, and in no time, the house was surrounded by a squad of policemen. They noticed that the main door was locked from the inside. Then, the police gave a warning.

Upon hearing the warning, my friend’s family came out of the house along with that man! The family asked what had happened, and the police explained that we had reported a case about a man carrying a gun in his hands heading towards your house. At first, they were shocked, but later we found out that everything was a misunderstanding. That man was my friend’s relative, and the gun he carried was just a toy, a gift for his nephew.
