When it  comes to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, there is a big role for educational institutes. From providing the ecosystem for students to nurture and grow their ideas to offering guidance, institutes play a big part  in creating this holistic learning environment for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Thus, taking a  significant step towards achieving the above-mentioned goal, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council, inaugurated a cutting-edge incubation centre, “Dr. Stya Paul Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Start-ups: Nurturing Leaders of Tomorrow”.

This incubation centre serves as a fitting tribute to the institution’s Founding-Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul, a visionary who is renowned for his exceptional entrepreneurial acumen and futuristic vision.

This will serve as a launchpad for students with entrepreneurial aspirations, offering a nurturing environment where they can receive invaluable assistance, guidance, and access to seasoned experts to transform their innovative ideas into thriving companies. This initiative further aims to empower aspiring entrepreneurs to drive a transformative shift in the corporate arena and make substantial contributions to nation-building.

The inauguration event was graced by the presence of Mr. Ahsan Ul Haq, Director of the India Programme at Mastermind Business School, London, UK, and Mentor of the Start-Up Cell at the Department of Industries & Commerce. Mr. Haq and Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, conducted the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the inauguration of this Centre of Excellence.

The inaugural activity further included students presenting innovative projects. During this event, three students had the opportunity to showcase their creative and ground-breaking ideas, products, as well as solutions.

Amandeep Singh, a B Tech (CSE) student is currently developing software aimed at detecting and preventing criminal activities, a project that promises to make a profound impact on society.

Harsh Mankotia and Tanvi, both pursuing B Tech (CSE), are collaborating on “Dil Se Seva,” a mobile application designed as a donation platform. This unique application bridges NGOs with volunteers who wish to donate various food items to those in need.

Anurag Shardha from B TECH (CSE) and Simarjeet Singh of MCA teamed up to create “Trendy Threads,” an innovative e-commerce website. This platform offers a wide range of trendy products and includes an inbuilt Customer Management System to enhance the user experience and provide efficient customer support.

This activity was significant because it set the tone for the center’s mission to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

Congratulating each member and students, Dr. Rajesh Baga applauded the students for their remarkable achievements.  He further emphasised the institution’s commitment to creating a collaborative space where students can generate new ideas and receive unwavering support to launch their ventures. He said, “The inauguration of the incubation center at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering is a testament to AIMETC’s dedication to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit and driving innovation. This centre promises to be a beacon of creativity, innovation, and growth, equipping students with the tools they need to shape the future of business.”
