Over 13,000 central HEI vacancies filled in 10 months: MoE

In a noteworthy advancement, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has revealed that an impressive count of over 13,000 positions within Central Higher Education Institutions (CHEIs) has been successfully occupied in just under 10 months. This accomplishment stands as a significant outcome of the ministry’s dedicated recruitment campaign.

Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, conveyed this update through a written response to the Lok Sabha on Monday (August 7, 2023). He elaborated that the occurrence of job openings and their subsequent fulfillment is an ongoing and continuous procedure.

Such vacancies emerge from a variety of factors, including retirement, resignations, and the need to accommodate a growing student population. The MoE has also issued a directive to all CHEIs to expeditiously address these openings through a focused initiative known as ‘Mission Mode.’ This approach encompasses a targeted push to fill positions earmarked for reserved categories.
