Nurturing Future Leaders: Enhancing early learning experiences

The event at Apeejay School, Tanda Road, fostered foundational skills with engaging and purposeful activities

At Apeejay School, Tanda Road, the Pre-primary wing buzzed with activity as young learners engaged in a series of meticulously designed enrichment activities. From origami to sensory exploration, each session was crafted to enhance not just academic skills but also the fine and gross motor abilities of students from Pre-nursery to UKG. These activities were not only a fun break from traditional learning but were crucial in laying a strong educational foundation.

In the Pre-nursery classes, tiny fingers were at work, meticulously pasting bindis and cotton on paper. The Bindi Pasting Activity was more than just an art task; it’s a developmental tool to enhance fine motor skills and boost concentration among the little ones. Meanwhile, the Cotton Pasting Activity doubled as a vocabulary lesson, helping children recognise letters in a tactile, engaging way. These activities are designed with the dual aim of making learning enjoyable and educational.

Nurturing Curiosity

As we stepped into the nursery classrooms, the air was filled with excitement. Here, children delve into the intricacies of their sense organs through interactive Sensory Activities. This hands-on approach not only clarifies concepts but also polishes communication skills. Following this, the Letter Road and Square Block Painting activities further support literacy and cognitive development. Through these exercises, children learn letter recognition and phonetics, alongside understanding shapes and colours.

Building Foundations

The learning journey continues in LKG, where numeracy and literacy take centrestage. Counting activities with stars not only makes Math appealing but also aids in understanding numbers and basic arithmetic operations. Additionally, associating sight words with objects and actions significantly bolsters reading skills, making the learning process holistic and dynamic.

Advanced Motor Skills and Imagination

In UKG, the focus shifted slightly to more complex concepts. Learning size differentiation through Small, Medium, and Large activities not only teaches critical thinking but also enhances motor skills. Perhaps the most captivating of all is the Making a Dream House activity, where students use empty boxes to create intricate models. This activity is pivotal in fostering creativity and improving eye-hand coordination.

Apeejay School, Tanda Road, continues to set benchmarks in pre-primary education, providing an environment where foundational skills are developed through playful yet purposeful activities. By focusing on a holistic curriculum, the school ensures that every child not only excels academically but also grows into a well-rounded individual.
