‘Mom and daughter’s bond’: Poem by Vagisha Kumar, Apeejay School, Nerul

Imperfect and flawed, this daughter may be,
Yet her mother’s love is unwavering, you see.
This daughter forgets the chores, neglects the task,
But her mother’s patience is an eternal mask
The laundry piles up, forgotten and lost,
Her mother’s hands pick up the cost.
With gentle reminders and a forgiving smile,
She carries the burden, going the extra mile.
We visit Chayos, our favorite spot
Sipping coffee, chatting for hours
I remember that one night,
When we couldn’t resist the sight,
Of gulab jamun and curd,
At 3 AM, our hearts were stirred.
We quietly sneaked to the kitchen,
And indulged in this forbidden mission,
We laughed and giggled like little girls,
Our bond, forever swirling in pearls.
I cherish our late night talks
As we walk around the empty blocks
You always have the right words to say
I feel so lucky to have you every day
