Snehil Mittal has come a long way in life. From the curiosity-filled classrooms of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in Jalandhar to the curiosity-driven world of coding, it’s been quite a journey.

In a quick chat with this techie, we get to know his side in the dynamically evolving and fast-shifting techscape and how he found his calling in the school. Read edited excerpts:

What does the transition from being a student to a professional feel like?

From my student days to coding in the real world, it’s been quite the ride. No more school summer or winter breaks now though but I’m tackling real life problems and not just the theory in textbooks. School had set the stage for my technology journey.

Any special memories from Apeejay Rama Mandi years?

When I think back to Apeejay School, Rama Mandi years, a flood of memories comes rushing in. Among them, Aarti Mam’s English classes stand out as truly unforgettable. Her ability to unite students from various streams created an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation. Another cherished memory is representing our exhibit ‘Bye Bye Blood Suckers’ at the CBSE National level science exhibition in Delhi. It was a testament to the nurturing environment at the school, where mentorship and creativity thrived parallelly.

How did the teachers mentor you to become who you are?

Reflecting on my journey, I owe a great deal to the teachers at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, who played pivotal roles in shaping me into who I am today. Manjit and Rajbir Mam, in particular, stood out for their unwavering support and guidance. Their belief in my potential fueled my determination to excel academically. Additionally, Vishali Mam’s encouragement and mentorship instilled in me the drive to pursue excellence, ultimately leading to my achievement as the University topper during my graduation. Their collective mentorship was instrumental in shaping not just my academic success, but also my character and values.

What motivated you to join the tech world?

My love for computers ignited in 10th grade, but it truly flourished during the senior years. It was about finding my niche and diving headfirst into the world of technology. I am glad I pursued my passion.

Finally an advice for all non medical students?

To my fellow non-medical enthusiasts: prioritise understanding over rote memorisation. And if tech’s calling your name, make sure it’s a genuine passion, not just a passing fancy.
